GALLOP COMMENTS

Freak

"Oh my!  Horse is a freak!"

Stakes

"This horse is a very special animal."

"Horse is a stakes quality horse."

Allowance

"Horse sure moves likes a very nice horse!"

"Horse really wowed me out there!  This is at least an allowance horse with some stakes potential."

Productive

"Great gallop!  Horse should have a productive career!"

"Horse galloped around the track easily!  I hope he isn't a morning glory."

Solid

"Horse's gallop looked okay, but I hope to see improvement next out."

"Horse had a solid gallop this morning, and may improve with age or experience."

Claimer

"Right now, horse looks like a claimer, but don't despair, because they are a solid source of income, and can always improve with racing experience!"

Different Career

"I wasn't too impressed with horse's gallop.  Hopefully, he will show some improvement next time, or he may never see a starting gate!"

"Horse looks a little stiff and awkward out there today.  Have you thought about other career options?"

Note #1:  Horses bred for steeplechasing usually gallop poorly.  You need to wait until they turn three, when you can school them over fences, to assess their potential as a steeplechaser.

Note #2: It's possible for the gallop comment to change, and perhaps change multiple time in a horse's career.  Changes take place at the beginning of Week 1 and Week 9.

BLOODSTOCK AGENT COMMENTS - Youngsters and Horses of Racing Age

Potential purchasers can pay 10,000 SIM dollars to ask the bloodstock agent about the horse's quality.  Unlike broodmares, you can't ask the bloodstock agent about a racehorse that you already own.

"Horse is a really impressive animal.  What are you waiting for?  Buy!  Buy!  Buy!"

"Horse has a whole lot of upside and could end up being a stakes horse one day.  It's worth a gamble to purchase at the right price."

"Horse could be any kind of horse, literally.  Claimer, allowance, or stakes horse, there's lots of potential here!"

"Horse disappointed me at first glance.  I'd advise you to stay away unless you're looking for a solid claimer, then horse is your horse."

BROODMARE COMMENTS - Flat Racing

Blue Hen

"Horse looks like a blue hen, what a special mare!"

Star

"Horse should be a star broodmare, throwing the fastest of flat runners!"

Formidable

"If you had a barn full of broodmares such as horse, you would have a formidable breeding operation!"

Unpredictable

"Horse should be a good broodmare, the kind that could surprise you with a nice runner once in a while."

Some Potential

"Horse has some broodmare potential, but she might not be the right fit for the classiest stables."

No Ability

"Horse doesn't have any potential as a flat race broodmare; I'd be impressed if she ever produced a winner!"

Note:  It costs 10,000 SIM dollars to have the bloodstock agent rate a mare.  For Thoroughbreds, she will give an assessment for both flat racing and steeplechasing.

BROODMARE COMMENTS - Steeplechase Racing

Brilliant

"Horse is also a brilliant broodmare for steeplechasing!"

Strong

"Horse's greatest strength could be as a dam of steeplechasers.  Good luck!"

Potential

"Horse has the potential as a dam of steeplechasers, so if you're interested in pursuing that I give you the green light!"

No Ability

"Unfortunately, horse probably won't produce a very good steeplechaser."

MATING NICKS

A+  down to  C

Note:  B+ and B are the most common, except steeplechasers can usually nick A and A- rather easily.
